First Child Founders

Jonathan Pattinson

Jonathan leads First Child Productions. As its service’s transatlantic driving force, Jonathan has provided agile and creative solutions for the company’s dynamic and talented clients. Under his leadership, the business has focussed its intelligent services with sustainability at its core.

Jonathan shares unique insights attained from years of frontline work experience (the front line of working) with a diverse group of the world’s largest corporates and sophisticated brands, to innovative start-ups and CEOs.

As a qualified coach, Jonathan is trained and approved by the MOE Foundations and the Association for Coaching (UK). With this expertise, Jonathan recently introduced an innovative coaching and development arm to enrich First Child Productions offerings.

Prior to First Child Productions, as a fresh graduate, Jonathan progressed rapidly from an internship with innovative luxury accessories brand and charity, Bottletop, (born of Mulberry founders) to MD, overseeing fresh-thinking, fundraising initiatives through global fashion and music brand collaborations with the likes of Fatboy Slim, Liberty and Malmaison. Following this, Jonathan worked for British media and telecommunications conglomerate BSKYB in Corporate Communications. He then joined the Clinton Climate Initiative.

Passionate about growing client’s business and delivering effective creativity within industry, Jonathan invested over 15 years working in start-ups and in global network agencies. These included the notable Interpublic Group and WPP, nurturing and directing relationships with brands such as P&G, HUGO BOSS, D&G, Lacoste, Pernod Ricard, PepsiCo, SAB Miller and Danone. Jonathan’s adept versatility grants him the ability of working efficiently and comfortably across board with all and sundry. He has worked with inner city youth within the UK’s care system, to delivering trusted counsel to CEOs from US law firms and gaming companies.

Straddling dual corporate & start-up tracks, Jonathan founded Reluctantly Brave (RB), an award-winning consultancy focusing on Culture, Innovation and Brand through sustainable, inclusive and thought-leading initiatives with his brother James and Dawood Gustave. Whilst building strong partnerships with social purpose, RB delivered global projects across Europe and the USA with a global C-Suite of clients such as DLA Piper, Sainsbury’s, GHD, Starbucks and Nandos, Jagex and Kellogg’s. Their pioneering and award-winning (Young) Braves program engaged millennials from a range of backgrounds in creative industry strategy and decision making projects. A founder of venture arm Added Venture, Jonathan holds investments in tech start-ups, whilst also sitting on the board of RB and AV.

Jonathan’s lifelong and committed interests include keeping-fit and competitive sports. His primary practice is Shaolin Kung Fu. This comprises 3 core pillars 1. Mediation, 2. Qi Gong (internal training) and 3. Kung Fu (external training), which enabled him to achieve his childhood dream of fighting for Great Britain. He is also a keen runner and enjoys team sports.
